February 17, 2010 — Press Release: New Physical Location
Raleigh, NC 2/17/2010
The board of directors of the LGBT Center of Raleigh, serving the Triangle and beyond, is proud to announce an historic moment in our movement's history. We have formally signed a lease for our first physical presence at 316 W. Cabarrus St. in downtown Raleigh. We are also pleased that Triangle Community Works (TCW) will be joining us.
The space will serve as an office and conference area, as well as an informal gathering spot for individuals and groups with ties to the LGBT Community. Although not as spacious as we ultimately envision our center to be, this is an ideal springboard for the organization, both in terms of location and affordability. We are committed to this location for at least one year.
We expect to be sprucing up the Center and re-arranging some of the existing functions. Our intention is to have the grand opening coincide with the HRC conference at the end of February.
Now, more than ever, we hope you will consider becoming a member of the Founders Triangle, a distinction reserved for those who are among the first one thousand people or groups to donate $100 or more. Please go to our web site at www.lgbtcenterofraleigh.com where you can donate safely and securely, and help us continue to achieve our dream for the LGBT community.
The LGBT Center of Raleigh, Inc. is a 501-(c)-3 non-profit corporation. Donations made to this organization are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
