“Absolutely Positive” World Premiere in Raleigh

“Absolutely Positive” focuses on shedding light on how the decisions we make in our lives can gravely affect us as well as those around us. The film also shows that HIV is universal and not just segregated to a certain community, race, age group, sexual orientation, etc. HIV has no lines, and it knows no bounds. Anthony of Second Glance Productions wanted to make a film that pushed the boundaries and showed the authenticities and realities that many may not think of. Our hope is to bring multiple communities together – HIV positive and negative, black/white/other ethnicities, and the LGBT and straight communities, in addition to many others.
It should be a really great and fun event for all. The actual event will be held on January 25th and 29th at Club 313, which will be open for all ages. For the premiere event, we plan to spare no expense. To treat all of our guests like Hollywood royalty, we plan to roll out the red carpet and invite the “paparazzi” out to join us for the evening. There will be raffling off of movie posters and early-release DVD’s of the film, talks about our future feature film, and the one-time premiering of “Absolutely Positive.” After these premiere dates, the film won’t be shown anywhere else but film festivals until 2013. With everyone knowing this, the anticipation is continuing to build within the community.
For the Bible Tells Me So
Affirming Faith Forum Friday January 27, 2012 6:30 to 8:30 pm We believe that the call to be a loving and just community is significant to life in our community. This scriptural imperative is especially significant now when anti LGBTQ hate based religious rhetoric threatens our lives and well being. We meet in the strength and love of community, attesting to how shame and guilt are disarmed.
Join us for:
A viewing and discussion of the film “For the Bible Tells Me So” Our goal is to faithfully act on the call to community healing and reconciliation. Grounding advocacy for religious tolerance in the mandate to love your neighbor challenges the immoral attempts to judge and punish others because of whom they love or how they identify or express their gender. Welcome to a safe place of radical hospitality. |
