First Friday Art and Wine Receptions 2011

The LGBT Center of Raleigh is proud to be the Triangle’s ONLY venue DEDICATED to showcasing LGBT artists and craftspeople! A percentage of artwork sales are donated to the Center. 2011 Featured Artist Series

January: Lori White. A local artist with a passion for both painting and the environment, Lori’s plein air paintings of North Carolina landscapes and larger studio works reflect her desire to recapitulate the freshness and sensory qualities experienced when actually out there painting from life. February: Matt Tomko. Seeking to liberate serene recollections of the natural world in those who view his paintings and to ultimately inspire more respect for our environment. Visit his website: matttomkoart.com

March: Clara K. Johnson. Creating original biomorphic abstract paintings using acrylic, oil and mixed media. Visit her website: www.clarakjohnson.com

April: Heather Gordon. Binary explorations into language and information. Visit her website: www.heather-gordon.com

May: Chad Hughes. Impressionist paintings exploring the transparency of glass and the reflective quality of metal. Visit his website: www.chadhughesart.com

June: Burt Tysinger. Hardwood dowel constructions comprised of a tangle of colored lines creating abstract pieces and three-dimensional sculptures.

July: Berta Bee.
