For more than 30 years, Anita Earls has worked to advance civil rights - by making justice real and tangible for underrepresented, underserved, and marginalized folks.
If you're new to the area, you might not know this, but Justice Earls is a really big deal. She's Associate Justice on the North Carolina Supreme Court and her guest appearance with the Women's Initiative is your first step to learning about how African American issues intersect with the LGBTQIA+ community.
Justice Earls has a remarkable career in law, social justice and public service - and that means she's the best woman-in-charge to answer questions about judicial efforts to give legal, moral and political opportunities to underrepresented individuals.
From running her own legal advocacy organization to serving in the US Department of Justice, Justice Earls has excelled in a white male-dominated field and tenaciously fought for what she believes in.
Justice Earls speaks this August 21, 2019 at the LGBT Center of Raleigh starting at 7:30pm. The Women's Initiative invites all audiences - LGBTQ and allies, 18 and up - to attend this inclusive conversation. Want in? RSVP now and let us know you're coming. We can't wait to see y'all there.
