Lambda Law Students Association at UNC School of Law is excited to announce that we will be hosting our annual pro bono transgender name change clinic on Saturday, April 6 from 1pm-4pm at UNC School of Law. You are receiving this message because you are part of or work with the state's LGBTQIA community. We would appreciate your help in spreading the word about this free clinic.
About the Name Change Clinic: Law students under attorney supervision will guide clients through the steps of legally changing one's name and gender marker on official documents in North Carolina. While the nature of the process does not allow us to complete changing a client's name and/or gender marker during the clinic, the meeting provides a great opportunity to learn more about the process, spot potential issues, and access helpful resources.
When: Saturday, April 6 from 1pm-4pm. No reservation required--walk-ins expected!
Where: 160 Ridge Rd, Chapel Hill, NC 27514. Students will direct clients to the meeting room.
Parking: Parking will be free. Lambda will reserve spots for clients in the law school parking lot, which is to the right of the law school building. (If you are able to access Google Maps, using the following address will take you there: S3 Lot, Chapel Hill, NC.)
Cost?: Nothing! The student and attorney volunteers will offer their help pro bono.
