We all have our hang ups. That's why everybody from multinational corporations to police departments are trying to lead diversity initiatives. But are these efforts helping or hurting the LGBTQ community? What about our more marginalized members?
Look deep within yourself and examine your personal narrative in this frank, open, and honest conversation with Genda Dockery. Genda is a masculine of center woman of color and board member of Raleigh Organizing Against Racism (R.O.A.R.), an organization devoted to dismantling racism in Wake County.
Hear how admitting to the existence of implicit bias will help all people accept and enact change to the realities of eradicating racism in the Triangle and beyond. Learn about the impact of power, privilege, and perspective as Genda surveys systems of oppression - and how each present internal and external problems for the LGBTQ community.
Leave the PC police and kids at home. Be prepared for real talk not suitable for the easily offended.
This event is open to all folx. RSVP encouraged but not required.
