The LGBT Center of Raleigh is physically closed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, but we continue to meet virtually! Those virtual offerings can be found here. If you have questions or are seeking resources, you can call 919-832-4484 seven days a week between the hours of 12pm and 4pm, and your call will be answered by a staff member or volunteer.

We continue to work with our partners at the Alliance of AIDS Services - Carolina on creating a plan to resume HIV and STI testing at the Center and will make an announcement by the end of July!

    Debra Hyson

    Debra C. Hyson serves as the President of the Board of Directors for Raleigh's LGBT Chamber of Commerce, also known as the Raleigh Business and Professional Network (RBPN). She is the longest serving president and the first woman to hold that volunteer position and is a lifelong activist, entrepreneur, and world traveler.

    Debra is part of a team co-organizing the first Pride Life Expo in the Triangle scheduled for April 4th, 2020, at the McKimmon Center on NC State's campus. Debra makes a living as a real estate investor and specializes in buying vacant properties that are diamonds in the rough. Debra is the epitome of a DIY entrepreneur and is hands on in renovating the properties which provides rental housing for people within the beltline.

    Born and raised in New York City, second generation American, she is one of the American dream stories. Her hard work, motivation and drive made her dreams come true, while making a difference within her community. Debra has a deep love of what she does, and an unquenchable desire to use her talents to serve others.
