Join us for a poetry reading and workshop with Anole Halper!
Anole will be reading some of their own poetry, as well as guiding attendees through their process and helping everyone write a little of their own! This event is part of Virtual Out! Raleigh Pride 2020.
An emerging poet, Anole Halper (they, them) is proudly genderqueer and neurodivergent. With a dual master's from UNC in social work and public health, they are dedicated to individual and collective healing from trauma and violence and have worked toward that in many spheres, including writing, facilitation, teaching, activism, and program design. They blog at trans-survivors.com, and their essay about mental illness in the lives of icons Sylvia Rivera and Marsha P. Johnson will be included in the forthcoming edition of Trans Bodies, Trans Selves.
This is an 18+ only event!
Their poetry unfurls dark personal narratives to discover complexity and awe. Please be sure to register below - a Zoom link will be sent out the day of the event!
