Come and let's talk. Find new connections among our faith communities.
If we are honest with ourselves, our individual faith communities have never been united. The concept of “Unity” is a dream at best. Our people don’t agree with each other. Some of our personal differences are not trivial. From issues with race, class, national origin, poverty, sexuality, and public policy, our faith communities have split when those disagreements become too wide to bear.
So, how does your faith community deal with differing views? How can we minister in a divided community and still be true to ourselves?
Our Connections meeting on Friday, January 22nd from 7pm to 8pm EST, will focus on our faith communities’ responses to the events of recent weeks. We will probably differ on the ways that we approach those topics. And we want to hear your view.
One Zoom Registration Signup will allow you to come to each of the Connections meetings through April. Please indicate which ones you plan to attend. You can always change your mind later.

Connections is a program of the LGBT Center of Raleigh that provides an opportunity for LGBTQ people of all faith backgrounds (or no faith backgrounds) and our Allies to come together and have conversation about various common concerns and ideas. The idea is to promote communication across a diverse group of people and provide safe, nonjudgmental space for people to express themselves with each other. Reconciling who we are - our sexuality and our spirituality - can be very difficult; Connections can provide a place where we are able to talk openly about such issues as well as other topics that some might consider taboo. Connections is all about building relationships - NOT religion.
Sometimes, we will have a main speaker on a central topic, but most months, we'll just have conversations around the room with small groups and individuals.
Come and explore new Connections in our faith community.
