Due to the pandemic and other safety concerns in Raleigh, we will be moving the usual vigil from the Capital building to Nash Square for a day of honor. We will have a memorial set up and flowers and candles for folks to lay down from 1:00pm - 7:30pm. To keep crowds to a minimum, please come by when you can during these hours and don't forget to wear your mask. If you would like to bring a letter, a small item or something else to leave at the memorial, they will be placed in a keepsake box that will be displayed at our new location.
For those that cannot or do not feel comfortable being there in person, we will be live streaming the memorial and a short vigil at 8:00pm. If you have stories to share or would like us to pay tribute to a particular person, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. There will also be a special tribute to Monica Roberts, a transgender activist and icon that passed away this year as well.
